🧠 My Journey to Becoming a German Shepherd Breeder in VA
Before I became a full-time breeder, I spent many years focused on raising and teaching.
I home-schooled both of my children from kindergarten through high school graduation. That experience shaped so much of who I am today – especially my patience, structure, and belief in intentional development.
Today, my son is a successful computer programmer, and my daughter works at a veterinary clinic while completing her vet tech degree. Watching her pursue a career in animal care continues to inspire my commitment to the health and wellbeing of every puppy I raise.
After my children graduated, I spent 13 years working with a professional dog training company, helping dogs of all breeds with a wide range of behavioral challenges.
During that time, I started to notice something important.
Many of the issues I was helping owners fix could have been prevented with the right start in early puppyhood.
That realization changed everything.

At Purple Pups GSD, my German Shepherd puppies are lovingly raised right in my home in Woodbridge, VA.
From the very beginning, they are part of daily life – surrounded by normal household sights, sounds, and experiences that help them grow into confident, well-adjusted companions.
I truly believe the best dogs start with the best foundations.
From birth, I use Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) to help promote strong development, resilience, and adaptability – qualities that stay with them for life.
As they grow, I continue building on that foundation through:
*Daily handling and one-on-one attention
*Exposure to sounds starting around 2 weeks old
*New surfaces, objects, and enrichment activities
*Early potty training starting at 4 weeks
*Crate introduction before going home
Everything I do is intentional and designed to help each puppy succeed.
